The goal of our engineers for our patented rollers was to create a roller that could run the most difficult processes found in the industry, flawlessly. We achieved this goal in designing the machines to laminate vinyl, polypropylene and nylon film. All of our models are capable of running these unusual films however, none is quite as capable at one side lamination as the PL-1200xs. This machine is specifically designed for the growing short run book binding industry to laminate nylon film to one side for book covers.

It is essential to use nylon film when laminating perfect bound book covers. Nylon films "breath" allowing the cover to acclimate to its environment thereby preventing curl caused by humidity.

The unique features of the PL-1200xs particular to single side laminating are:

1. On-Demand Performance:

90 second warm-up and 16fpm performance.

2. Non-Stick Bottom Roller:

The bottom roller is an aluminum air cooled roller designed to prevent an accumulation of adhesive even when the film is in direct contact. This eliminates the mandatory shingling of book covers required on other machines thus significantly reducing the cost of a custom cover.

3. Quick Gap Rollers:

This Roller gapping lever has a unique dual function. The first position on this lever is "Idle". This action simultaneously gaps the front roller and disengages the motor and fans while allowing the rollers to stay in contact to prevent film shifting while idle. This eliminates the need to run an excessive amount of film to ready the machine. The next position on this lever is "Park". This subsequently gaps the rear rollers when the machine is not in use.

4. Static Control:

Dual, quick change static control includes a anti-static bar for each side of the film.

5. Safety:

This includes a safety shield over the front roller to prevent inadvertent contact with the heated roller. Also with this safety package is included various labels to remind operators of the inherent hazards involved with laminating.
